To specify the delivery method in an Everbridge incident template, you must edit the template’s settings in the Manager Portal. This allows you to set the default delivery methods, control their order, and define delivery intervals.
Steps to configure delivery methods in an incident template
- Log in to the Everbridge Manager Portal using your account administrator credentials.
- Navigate to the incident templates by selecting
Incidents from the top menu, then clicking Templates from the dropdown.
- Edit the template by clicking the pencil icon next to the desired template’s name.
- Access the settings by clicking the
Settings menu on the left side of the template editing page.
- Edit the default settings by clicking
Edit under the “Default” tab.
- Select delivery methods. Locate the Delivery Methods section and choose the contact paths you want to enable for this template (e.g., email, SMS, mobile push).
- Customize delivery options by clicking
More Options for advanced controls:
- Delivery Order: Control the sequence in which delivery methods are used
- Interval between Delivery methods: Set the time the system waits before moving to the next contact method for an individual.
- Contact cycles: Determine how many times the system will attempt to deliver the notification for non-responsive contacts.
- Interval between cycles: Define the waiting period between retry cycles.
- Define dynamic settings (optional): You can create conditional settings that trigger different delivery methods based on incident variables. Under the “Condition” tab in Settings, click
Add a Condition to set up specific rules.
- Save your changes by clicking
Save in the top-right corner of the page.
